I love Crossfit…except for having to put back my 45lb plates after a WOD. That part I hate.
For those prepping for the Crossfit Games Open, here’s a nice Skrillex track that just released. Enjoy while doing some burpees - play it loud!!!
Skrillex & the Doors - Breakn’ a Sweat
One of my favorite Crossfit WOD songs.
Fort Minor - Remember the Name
Some new PR’s - Jan 2011
I haven’t posted in a long time. Been super busy with work, took some vacation, and I’ve been dealing with a tear in my shoulder (not crossfit related). Having said that, I’ve hit some new PR’s over the last couple of months that I wanted to document and pat myself on the back for. Having done Crossfit now for exactly 4 months I’m super proud of where I’m at, but still have a long way to go.
- Deadlift 1RM: 405lb
- Annie: from 17:35 to 11:30. Still have a long way to go on double unders.
- Muscle ups: from none to doing 7 in a WOD
- Squat Clean: 1RM of 175lb
- Murph: first time doing it 52:53. My strategy was not very good, so I’m hoping for about 45 min next time.
- Fight Gone Bad: first time doing it had 230. My goal is to hit 260+ next time.
My goal over the next month is to continue to work on my double-unders. Due to my shoulder I can’t really do a lot of overhead stuff, but I hope with my visits to the PT over the next 2 months, that goes away.
Anyone focused on hitting some PR’s this month?
Very cool new video explaining what Crossfit is all about. While some hardcore Crossfitter’s are dissapointed with the Reebok partnership, I personally think that if this drives awareness and broad acceptance by the kids, moms, pops, grandparents of the world and gets them healthy, then this is a good thing.
Nice commercial from Nike.
